Pro-friends' Conducts Carmona Estates Media Campaign

27 May 2014, Manila
Emceed by celebrity mom and stand-up comedienne Giselle Sanchez, PRO-FRIENDS campaign’s kickoff event-slash-brand, Carmona Estates launch was witnessed by privileged media representatives and special guests among others, at the Blue Leaf Filipinas in Paranaque City.

Indeed, owning your dream house proves to be a challenge these days.  Several factors like location, affordable financing and environment play important roles in determining whether a house can be turned into a home.  Fortunately for prospective homeowners, these elements are exactly what property developer and game changer Property Company of Friends, Inc., or simply PRO-FRIENDS, strategically consider in creating residential communities and in providing homes to Filipino families.

To support this mission, PRO-FRIENDS’ 87-HECTARE DEVELOPMENT Carmona Estates bears its newest campaign called, “We’re Home.”

Carmona Estates, a noted development of PRO-FRIENDS, offers the most value for your hard-earned money.  With an impressive portfolio of horizontal and vertical residential developments all over the country, PRO-FRIENDS is a trusted name in the real estate industry.  This alone is assurance enough that choosing to reside within the Carmona Estates enclave is one of the wisest investments young married couples can have.

Situated at Barangay Lantic in Carmona, Cavite, Carmona Estates is a thriving community with existing happy homeowners already.  Residents can also spend their time in the community's sprawling greenery, where a playground and a swimming pool are available for every homeowner's use.  Carmona Estates is conveniently located eight minutes from the Carmona Exit of the South Luzon Expressway, and just a few minutes away from the Carmona town proper and public market.  It is a flood-free community that fosters belongingness, comfort and security.

“A house should be a place where you and your family feel most comfortable at – no pretensions, no hesitations.  This is where you should be able to reveal your true self without fear of judgment.  Carmona Estates, through the “We’re Home” campaign, delivers your own sanctuary, a space where you can be the way you are.  Our house and lots are roomy and cozy, perfect for a growing family who seeks to be completely at home in their own house.  Our units are both affordable, starting at PhP9,300/month for the Pines house model, with no lump sum or balloon payments, and spacious with well thought-out designs, something that’s rarely offered in the market today,” says Mr. Augusto G. Leonardo, Jr., PRO-FRIENDS COO/EVP Business Unit 4 Head.

A range of house models like townhouses and single-attached units, each smartly utilizing every available space, awaits different kinds of families.  And as mentioned by Mr. Leonardo, upstart couples may opt for the Pines, a manageable 60-square-meter dwelling with three bedrooms and two bath, starting at PhP9,300 for the monthly payment.  Meanwhile, bigger families may want the four-bedroom Oakwood, a spacious 104-square-meter expanse with enough room for two cars, starting at PhP18,900 a month.

Each house and lot is priced competitively so even a modest amount of savings can already get you started in owning your dream home.  With one of the most flexible financial schemes in the market that guarantees no balloon payments, living in the well-appointed Carmona Estates gated community is within reach.

Incidentally, in that fun-filled launch, it came as a surprise to Mr. Leonardo, when he was called on stage and greeted by event-emcee Giselle, a 'Happy Birthday'. While the celebrant was traditionally presented with a birthday cake, the audience joined Giselle in singing the birthday song.

Pro-friends owner, Mr. Gerry Choa, inspired the audience by stating the developer's strongest selling points, “Pro-friends is being able to understand the people we serve, and saying good enough isn’t good enough.  We will continue to improve in every facet we can improve, and to keep improving as we have improved in the last 15 years."

ZCR 4th Conference in Manila

May 21 2014 - Attended by tourism SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises), hotel/resort/restaurant owners, local associations of architects, engineers, technical consultants, tourism and human resources students and advocates,    the 4th Zero Carbon Resorts Conference was conducted at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Catching my attention was the unique and cozy ZCR Native Bamboo Cottage - an energy self-sufficient model, showcasing sustainable principles and energy systems using appropriate technology solutions.  In its redesign stage, 3rd of ZCR's three-pronged approach (1st is to reduce the energy consumption in hotels and resorts; 2nd is to replace inefficient fossil-based devices with better, greener technologies), this redesigned "Zero Carbon Cottage" (below), uses solar-and biomass-based energy generation systems.

Recognized during the event were the tourism SMEs that gained the highest CO2 savings. Likewise acknowledged were the ASEAN awardees from the ZCR members.

Congratulations to GrAt Managing Director, Dr. Robert Wimmer, and his dynamic team for the ZCR's success and achievements  over the last 4 years!

Maserati Ghibli unveils at the 23rd Trans Sport Show

May 22, 2014, Manila, PhilippinesAutostrada Motore Inc., the official importer and distributor of Maserati in the Philippines, officially launched today the highly anticipated Maserati Ghibli at the 23rd Trans Sport Show at the SMX Convention Center.

Making inspirational motoring more accessible, Maserati’s new 4-door sports executive sedan combines breath-taking design with exceptional handling qualities and outstanding performance.

“The launch of the Ghibli marks a turning point in Maserati’s rich history. It is the first time in 100 years that the luxury Italian brand presents two four-door sedan models simultaneously,” said Mark Soong, Executive Director of Autostrada Motore Inc.

By 2015, the Ghibli provides a cornerstone in Maserati’s plan to build 50,000 cars a year. It is the second model after the flagship Quattroporte, to be manufactured to new benchmark quality standards in Maserati’s new state-of-the-art production facilities in Grugliasco close to Turin.

Both versions of the petrol range, Ghibli and Ghibli S, feature a new-generation twin turbo-charged 3.0-litre V6 engine and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. With its power output of 410 hp the Ghibli S races to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 285 km/h. The Ghibli delivers 330 hp, a top speed of 263 km/h and acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

The new Ghibli shares parts of its core architecture, its chassis, its suspension architecture, the V6 engine and the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with the flagship limousine Quattroporte. It is, however, 173 mm shorter in the wheel base and 291 mm shorter overall, as well as 50 kg lighter.

Dynamic and precise handling is guaranteed by the car’s perfectly balanced 50:50 weight distribution while the sophisticated suspension system and limited slip differential make every ride even more enjoyable. Achieving five stars on the Euro NCAP crash test, the Ghibli provides peace of mind for all occupants.

While the Ghibli features all classic Maserati design traits, its exterior emphasizes its determined personality.

The outline of the body reflects a coupé-like philosophy for the four-door sedan, while there are noticeable feline hints around the Ghibli’s grille and headlights. The pronounced grille draws a line back to the iconic A6 GCS of the 1950s. The shape of the headlights converges onto the Trident symbol, with every angle designed to attract the eye to Maserati’s legendary marque.

The distinctive C-pillar delivers much of the Ghibli’s coupé-like stance and hosts the classical Saetta Maserati logo, carrying on a tradition dating back to 1963. The side profile is dominated by a swage line that runs from the three unmistakable Maserati air vents behind the front wheels and finishes in the rear lights themselves.

With its long wheelbase, a total length of 4.97m and wide tracks, the Ghibli demonstrates a perfect blend of sportiness and elegance that is second to none in its class.

The Ghibli enters the E-segment of the sports premium market with a tangible advantage in cabin craftsmanship and detailing. It also sets itself apart with a unique, cockpit-inspired dashboard design that perfectly matches its sporty and youthful character without compromising on the highest level of refinement and sophistication.

Key elements such as the 8.4" Maserati Touch Control and the fine Poltrona Frau® leather finish underline the cabin’s timeless sporting character. Optional features include the 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins high end audio system, WLAN based WiFi and a wide range of customization options that cater for the most demanding individuals.

Visit to Dr. Miguel P. Flores - N8 Upper Cervical Chiropractic

Thanks to Angelo Narciso Songco of Sugarleaf, who introduced our group to a NUCCA Upper Cervical Specialist, Dr. Miguel Flores.

I have this lumbar compression deformity from an accident, which started to interfere with my athletic activities.. Upon consultation, Dr. Miguel said that any of the following could have been affected after my accident:  my spinal cord, brains and/or nerves.

Also, because of such accident, my atlas (2 oz. doughtnut-shaped vertebra at the top of the spine) may have been moved out of position, which could result to two serious things: body imbalance and restriction of the brain messages to the different parts of the body.

I personally appreciate Dr. Miguel's explanation about the Upper Cervical Procedure that corrects the position of the atlas.  Now I know how Body in Balance and Precision Upper Cervical adjustment work.

He added that a rightly-positioned atlas is so important to good health and that countless problems could be avoided by having periodic atlas checkups.

Glad to know that once the atlas is repositioned,
it will restore body balance and brain-to-body communication so that organs, limbs and tissues can resume normal function.

I immediately felt better and lighter, the day after my first session. Glad that Dr. Miguel will help me maintain my active lifestyle.  He laughed when I asked, "Can I climb the mountains, again?"

Will keep you posted, as my treatment progresses.

Maestro ITAY TALGAM Live in Manila - How To Run Your Team Like a World Class Orchestra, Manila Peninsula

The role of a leader is likened to that of a conductor --- "one ought to find his own style," according to Maestro Itay, an Israeli, internationally-renowed musical conductor and speaker.

A great leader/conductor needs to be enthusiastic and inspirational. He  needs to sweep his team members along with his charisma and passion.

Maestro Itay  shared the leadership secrets in music and at work, to wit:

A good conductor like an inspirational leader must maintain an atmosphere of fun, in order to create "a unified interpretation"; afterall,  perfecting performances would take time. In the process, he ought to practice the virtue of patience; in that, he makes allowances for individual differences.  And in the process, "it's okay to
make mistakes".

Furthermore, "a good conductor/leader must be authentic, with good communication skills, someone who can motivate, condition and grow up people".

"Leadership cannot really be taught. It can only be learned." -Harold Geneen
